Show PARAGONAH NEWS NOTES I Mrs. Hilma Lamoraaux Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Lund left for a trip Saturday last. They were traveling to Salt Lake City on business and then on to Lander, Lan-der, Wyo., to see their daughter, mis. Ueity Smitn and her family. Mrs. Olive Edwards was re-I re-I loosed from the hospital in Cedar City Saturday and has gone to fcM.a.et ..u acrtd a e. aaj witii her son, Reed, and his family. Mr. and Mrs. Clem Duncan of Meadow visited here one day last week with Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Lund. Mrs. Melinda Jolley of Glen-dale Glen-dale was In town Monday for a visit with her sister, Mrs. Eliza- beth Maxwell. She was accompanied accom-panied by a daughter, Mrs. Bert Keil of Cedar City. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Jones and son Kelly left for Salt Lake City Monday. The boy was to enter the ch'.luVcn'i hospital for foot surgery. The other children are n beaver with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Mario Stones and children of Cedar City and the Alan Stones family of Parowan were Sunday visitors at the D. Amasa Stones home. Mrs. Linda Green and children of Cedar City were here Monday to spend the day with her grandparents, grand-parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. A. Stones. The Stake High Priests party held In the Paragonah Ward chapel Friday evening was well attended and interesting. The theme of missionaries around the world was carried out in the program and Lloyd Benson of Parowan was the guest speaker. Following the meeting refreshments refresh-ments were served. The annual Relief Society Birthday Party held on Tuesday of last woek was a pleasant occasion oc-casion for all who attended. An interesting program was presented present-ed commemorating the Golden Anniversary of the Relief Society magazine. A delicious lunch was served also. Mrs. Sylvia Staploy and Mrs. Oscar Hulet of Summit attended. The little Misses Terrie and Carlene Dalton of Cedar City spent the week end here visiting with their grandparents, Mr. and M.-s. Clark Robb. Mr. and Mrs. Bud Orton and jeir five children are leaving jr community. Their home here was seriously damaged by fire during the Christmas holidays so they are purchasing a house in Parowan. Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Clark and son, Greg of Cedar City were here Saturday and Sunday visiting visit-ing with the Eari li.oiiins. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth G. Top-ham, Top-ham, Mrs. Delia Topham and Mrs. Alda Robinson traveled to Beryl Saturday to attend a reception re-ception for newlyweds, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Bracken. They were accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. WaKio Topham of Cedar City. Sa.n Lister and J. B. Jones were home from Provo for the Week end with their folks, the Frank Lister and Blaine Jones lamines. Mrs. Yvonne Low and daughter daugh-ter Patty of Beaver were Thursday Thurs-day visitors here at the James H. Anderson home. Duane Lamoreaux was here from Cedar City last week for a couple of days with his people the Joe Lamoreaux family. ' Mrs. Lois Orton who -is convalescing con-valescing from a recent ser'ous illness came to Paragonah Wed-I Wed-I nesday to spend a week or so with her brother-in-law and sis-, sis-, ter, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph E. Barton. Bar-ton. Her son Lee Roy is visiting here also, having come from California Ca-lifornia for a few days. On Monday, Mon-day, Mrs. Doris Williams and her two hoys came from Cedar City to spend the day with them. Mrs. Gwen Jones came home from Pocatello, Ida., for a few Cuya lasi week and attended the I funeral In Panguitch for her cousin. cou-sin. She returned to Pocatello after receiving word that her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Janet Jones, was critically ill with infection. in-fection. Eugene Boardman was home from Provo to spend the week end with his folks, the William S. Boardman family. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Burton returned to Logan Sunday after a ten-day stay here with relatives. rela-tives. On Friday evening of last week Laura entertained in honor of Mrs. Sonja Lamoreaux at a party held at the Rulon Dalton home In Parowan. A number of Paragonah relatives and friends attended the party. Mr. and Mrs. Willard Lund were here from Provo for the week end. They attended to some business matters and visited with relatives In the area. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Talbot and their baby were here from Salt Lake City for the week end. They visited with Mr. and Mrs. Orson Talbot and with the Brent Talbot family of Parowan joined in the birthday celebration for their mother, Mrs. Annie Talbot Mrs. Talbot also received real Hawaiian Hawai-ian lcis from Hawaii where her son Ardell is serving a mission. Mrs. Lila Stones and her daughters, Linda Rae and Barbara, Bar-bara, traveled to Salt Lake City Thursday of last week for a visit with Llla's grandmother, Mrs. Bessie Evans. Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Anderson and their five children of Kanab were here Sunday to spend the day with the James Andersons. Mr. and Mrs. Max Bonzo of Salt Lake City visited here at the Lewis Prothero home Saturday and Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Don Barton arrived ar-rived homi last Wednesday after af-ter a week's absence. They traveled tra-veled to Anderson, Calif., for a visit with Don's neice, Mrs. Audrey Aud-rey Hatch and her husband, Fred and family. One Interesting Incident Inci-dent In their stay In Anderson was attending the annual Ward Relief Society Birthday Banquet where Mrs. Hatch was honored as retiring president of the organization. |
