Show Forest Service Sets Fee For Pine Valley Beginning May 16 and extending extend-ing to Sept. 14, the Pine Valley Campground on the Dixie National Na-tional Forest will be operated on a charge for use basis, according accord-ing to word received today from Albert Albertron, forest supervisor supervis-or in Cedar City. Since this campground was first established it has been operated oper-ated on the basis of free use to the public. However, it is now felt that with additional funds derived from a nominal charge a better job of campground cleanup clean-up and sanitation will be possible possi-ble and operation of the area will be more satisfactory to the public. pub-lic. Services and facilities available avail-able at the campground consist of individual camps with .stove, table, food cupbord, and fire circle. cir-cle. Also, available is pure tested water, sanitary toilets, swings, teeters, ball diamond, volleyball tennis and horseshoe courts, community com-munity picnic area amphitheater, garbage removal andN camp cleanup. Maintenance crews will soon be at work repairing these facilities and putting therri in order or-der for the use of those who wish to camp or picnic in the area. Nominal Fee Charges made at the campground camp-ground will be on the basis of 25 cents per car with party of not to exceed six adults for one day picnic, 50 cents per car fith party of not to exceed six adults for overnight camping, or $3.00 per week. No charge will be made for children under 12 years of age. Any group or party desiring reservations res-ervations for the community center should contact Gardner Snow at the Pine Valley Campgrounds Camp-grounds or the forest ranger in St. George. The charge system has been In effect on three other major campgrounds camp-grounds on the Dixie Forest during dur-ing the past two years, and the system has worked out to the satisfaction of all concerned. We hope "we may have the suppoit of the people who use the Pine Valley Campground in trying it out this year," Mr. Albertson said. Trailer House Lots In the vicinity of the Pine Valley Val-ley campground the Forest Service Ser-vice has laid out an area of trailer house lots which can be obtained on a year-round special use basis at a cost of $10.00 per year. This plan provides an attractive at-tractive lot for house trailer owners own-ers which can be used year after year, according to stipulation of 'the special use permit. These lots have shade and pleasant I scenery, but yet require the building of about one-fourth of a mile of road before they can |
