Show CSHDrama Student Chosen For Plymouth Festival : -or. - r .I - - - - EWA JOAN PRYOR Miss Evva Joan Pryor, sophomore sopho-more student at the College of Southern Utah from Beaver, has been accepted as a participant in the annual Plymouth Drama Festival at Plymouth, Mass., it was announced recently by Richard Rich-ard M. Rowley, acting head of the speech department at the college. Applicants from all over the United States are carefully screened, and from several hundred, hun-dred, 40 are selected. Selection is made on the basis of recommendation recom-mendation from a school or college col-lege instructor and from others who know the applicant well. The record of achievement in the field of drama is also taken into consideration. The festival will bring together aspiring students of drama and guest artists and directors from Broadwav and other theatrical centers. Many prominent stars in the entertainment world are guest artists with the Plymouth group. The festival is an intensive five-week training course during which many theatrical productions produc-tions are presented with several plays in preparation at the same time, under the direction of highly high-ly skilled directors. Miss Pryor will leave for the east coast the latter part of Julv. and plans to return to C S U next fall. |
