Show CSU Students Attend UofU Premedical Confab Five students of the College of Southern Utah in company with Glen Wahlquist of the agronomy division, were in attendance at a regional premedical conference at the University of Utah, recently. recent-ly. Purpose of the conference was to provide an opportunity for premedical pre-medical students to become acquainted ac-quainted with the college of medicine med-icine and its organization and facilities. Another objective, Wahlmiist said wn tn nrnvlHp an opportunity for premedical students to participate In a discussion dis-cussion of problems of Importance, Import-ance, such as premedical curriculum, curric-ulum, medical admission tests and other problems facing the students. i The five CSU students attend-. ing were Paul Graff, Edward Dal-ton, Dal-ton, James Perry, David Brown and Doyle Taylor. Some of the outstanding medical medi-cal men in the state were in attendance at the conference pro-viding pro-viding an insight to the profession profes-sion of the medical aspirants. Dr. Phillip B. Price, professor and head of the department of surgery; sur-gery; Dr. Sydney W. Anglema'n, associate dean and director of general education, headed a discussion dis-cussion of interest to premedical students which was followed by a lively panel discussion. A tour of the medical college was conducted and special demonstrations dem-onstrations and exhibits were prepared for those in attendance. Tours of the medical building, cancer research building, polio research building and the county hospital offered highlights to the trip, Wahlquist said. Sponsorship of the conference was a joint operation by the Beta chapter at the U of U and the Alpha chapter of the U S A C. |
