Show Seminary Supervisor To Deliver Commencement Talk , '. - y , ,-.''' i : r w - fun oi i i t i -r TED TUTTLE A. Ted Tuttle, supervisor of seminaries for the L.D.S. Church, will address the largest graduating gradua-ting class in the history of the Cedar City Seminary on May 15th at 8 p. m.. Place to be announced later. Mr. Tuttle, a graduate of both Brigham Young and Stanford Universities, was himself a seminary sem-inary teacher for seven years and the Director of the LDS Institute of Religion in Reno, Nevada, at the time of his appointment as a supervisor in 1953. Of added interest will be the presentation of a $100 scholarship scholar-ship to an already selected graduate grad-uate student now completing the special fourth year course. This scholarship, given for the first time this year, it to be known as the Lois Baird Heaton Memorial Scholarship in honor of the generous gen-erous sponsors. The selection of the winner was made by the local Stake Board of (Education under the direction of President Elwood Corry last Monday evening eve-ning and will be announced the night of graduation. Sponsorship of the scholarship Is by Allen and Elbert Heaton in honor of their mother, Lois Baird Heaton. An estimated one hundred students stu-dents will receive diplomas for completing the prescribed three year course and an additional thirty students will receive fourth year certificates. Names of graduates grad-uates will be given in next week's Iron County Record along with the program. |
