She talked to us woman to woman. She let us get close to her and sought ways of getting acquainted with all members. She wanted us to succeed as a club and as a member mem-ber was proud when we did. So many times she sat back, away from the limelight and let others oth-ers be acknowledged when the limelight was her right, the right of her offhe. She turned a deaf ear to gossip. She took time for all things and when she visited visit-ed us we in turn grew calm and serene. Always she stressed the absolute necessity of friendship, and this was her favorite topic whenever the opportunity arose.
