Show Junior Riile Club Members Earn Special Awards Special awards for snapshooting snapshoot-ing were presented to five boys of the Cedar City Junior Rifle Club last Monday evening. Wil-lard Wil-lard Hamilton of the American Legion presented four pro-marksman medals and one Marksman medal to the boys. Under the sponsorship of the American Legion Post No. 74. the Junior Rifle Club has been organized or-ganized and has become affiliated affil-iated with the National Rifle Association. Bobby Talbot has headed the instructors with Hamilton Ham-ilton and other Legionnaires assisting as-sisting in the program. Curtis Larson uas the sole winner win-ner of the Marksman medal, while I'hilip Stewart, Michael Higbee, Paul Watson and Leon Cheever won pro marksman medals me-dals this year. On the certificates that accompanied accom-panied the medals the valuation of the medals was clarified. The Marksman certificate read as follows: Curtis Larson has qualified quali-fied as a marksman at 50 feet, hav ing made a sore of 25 points or better, out of a possible 50 points, on "ifli of ten official NRA targets." The pro-marksmen must score 20 points on each of the 10 targets. According to Hamilton the junior jun-ior club now has six army issue Remington target rifles that have been obtained for clul) use. |
