Show Baseball Teams Feted in , Annual Jamboree The second annual baseball I jamboree, feting all of the young i men participating in the various' baseball programs in Cedar City was a "howling" success Mon-1 day evening. It was staged at Hotel El Escalante, courtesy of the Utah Parks Company. At the banquet which featured hamburgers a la king, (which means with onions to sparol. some 2."0 youngsters, representing represent-ing the Minor League, Little League, Pony League and Junior Legion, were in attendance, plus organizers of the program and sponsors. (Men Petty, city recreation recrea-tion director and Little League president . presided. Kats f-r th evening were furnished fur-nished by the Parks Company, who donated the hall and the hamburgers; Arctic (Mrele, who furnished the punch, and Arden Dairy who topped off the evening with ice cream sandwiches. Mothers Mo-thers of some of the boys did the serving. During the evening trophic to the champions of the Little League were presented. Arden Dairy was awarded the Pony League trophy, donated by West-side West-side Groeorv, Herschel Neeley. owner; and Rotary CM ub was awarded a beautiful trophy donated do-nated by Mullett Jewelry. ' The only suspense of the evening eve-ning was the presentation, of the Outstanding Sportsmanship team trophies. Hallo! ing for this' was not done until the evening of the jamboree by the umpiring umpir-ing staff members. Utah Parks Company won the trophy in the Pony League and it was donated! by Cedar Laundry and Cleaners. I The umpires just eouldnt make up their minds in the Little League and it ended in a draw. 1 The Columbia team and the Elks, Rulers were the recipients. A tro-. phy was on hand, donated by Vaughn Oazulian and a sponsor for another trophy will be found in the near future, officials stated. stat-ed. Following the meal and some i singing under the direction of Rev. Wm. Burton, the boys enjoyed en-joyed two fine films to climax the year.
