Show Force Accounts Made For City's Power Plant Projects I Since no bids were received for the construction of the facilities 'to put t he new city power plant !in Paragonah Canyon in operation, opera-tion, city officials and the city engineer Thomas C. Adams have taken steps to get the work un-day un-day way in a different manner. Two phases of the work, the construction of the power house and pumping station, and the construction of the diversion works at the head of the pipe line, will be undertaken on a force account basis. The third part of the project, construction of the high voltage transmission line from the plant to Parowan, a distance of five miles, will probably be done under bid by the Wasatch Electric Company of Salt Lake City. The consulting engineer of that company was in Parowan Tuesday, Tues-day, going over the line and obtaining ob-taining plans and specifications for the line and substations, and he stated that his company will furnish a proposition for city officials offi-cials to consider next Monday or Tuesday. Merrill O. Mitchell, local construction con-struction worker will undertake the construction of the diversion dams at the head of the pipe line and Deward Bentley, another an-other local contractor, will have charge of the power and pump: Ing plant. These jobs will be supervised by these men with the cast based on the engineer's estimate esti-mate and with a bonus provision providing they can come under the engineer's estimates as an incentive for efficient work. |
