Show High School Teaching Vacancies Filled During Week With the opening of school in Iron County set for Tuesday, Sept. 7, the teaching staff of the Parowan High School is complete com-plete it is announced by lan-thus lan-thus Wright, superintendent of Schools. Final vacancies in the local teaching staff were filled during the week with the signing of two teachers to teach music and commercial com-mercial subjects. They will replace re-place Wilford Young and Elizabeth Eliza-beth B. Hall, who have accepted positions in other schools. The new music instructor will be LeNoir Asay, who is now on his way from France to the U. S. to be here for school opening. He has taught one year, 19-18-49 in the Cowley, Wyo. High School after which he was called to fill a mission to France by the L D S church. After his mission mis-sion was completed, Mr. Asay re mained in France to study music. He studied at the Normal School of Music in Paris, then went to the Conservatory of Music at Nice, France from which he received re-ceived his B. A. and M. A. degrees in music. He then did graduate work at Florence, Italy. The teacher of commercial subjects sub-jects will be Leroy Laws, a graduate grad-uate of the Brigham Young University, Uni-versity, a veteran of military service, and who has been engaged en-gaged in the contracting business for the last few years. He graduated from B Y U in 1951 with a B. S. degree and did graduate work at the University of Oregon. He taught one year in the Richfield High School and then entered the contracting business. We are told that he is married and has four children. |
