Show CLUB AND PARTY MUTES ! By Mrsi Therol MacArtbur J Mrs. Carmen Jones was hostess j to the members of her bridge club Wednesday evening at her lovely home. Special guests included in-cluded Mrs. Jane Croft, and Mrs. Edna Rae Frei of California now-visiting; now-visiting; in Cedar City. Bridge scores were won by Mrs. Ruth Betenson. Mrs. Carma Uobson and Mrs. Betty Hunter. The Lohoaobey Club w.is entertained enter-tained at the home of Mrs. (Jrant Taylor Thursday evening at a dessert and pinochle party. Prizes were awarded to Mrs. Ren Taylor Tay-lor and Mrs. Grant Tucket. Other Oth-er members present were Mrs. Bladen Leigh, Mrs. H. C. Hair. Mrs. Nelson Bulloch, Mrs. Frank Milne, Mrs. Leo Cahoon, Mrs. Kl-mer Kl-mer Cox, Mrs. John Crabtree and Mrs. Maude Mortensen of Salt Lake City, was a special guest. Miss Vickie Taylor entertained at an overnight party Thursday in honor of Miss Carol Roberts who is leaving soon for Reno to make her home. The guests at dinner then slept at the Ren Taylor ranch on Cedar Mountain. Those in attendance were the Misses Gerry Smith, Jeanette Flanigan, Jeanette Rollins. Shirley Shir-ley Graff, Joyce Crabtree, Nellene Pary, Donlee Smith, Deanna Gri-ener, Gri-ener, Darlene Fullmer, Barbara Knell, Martha Fakler, Margaret Froyd, Karen Gale and Jackie Harris Slack. The We-Ak-Avi Club held its annual summer outdoor party on Thursday evening on the patio of the Stanley Bradshaw home. Thirty-six members and their husbands were present to enjoy the wonderful dinner, program and games. Mrs. Blanche Houch-en Houch-en was chairman of the event with Mrs. Bradshaw and Mrs. Bill Snow serving on her committee. Members of the Pinochle Couples Cou-ples Club held an overnight party par-ty Wednesday evening at the Frank Milne cabin at Navajo Lake. It was a no host affair, with the following couples enjoying en-joying the fishing, dinner and pinochle: Mr. and Mrs. Milne, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Heyborne, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Orton, Mr. and Mrs. Klwyn Halterman and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hansink. The Sixth Ward High Priests were hosts to the Cedar Stake High Priests at the first party yet to be hoi 1 in the new stake house. Apple pie and ice cream was the big attraction of the evening at this unusual "Uran-r ium" party. All guests were tested test-ed to discover if they were "active." "ac-tive." 'inactive," or "radio ac-Itiee" ac-Itiee" during the evening and imanv original stunts and games 'were" enjoyed by the large group in attendance. The committee in charge of this clever affair was Mr. and Mrs. Leo Larson, Mr. and .Mrs. Raymond Lunt, Mr", and Mrs. j William Condie. and Mr. and Mrs. Truman Rollins. Several new members were initiated into I the group at this time. I I The En Amities Club was entertained en-tertained at the home of Mrs. jGeorge Jones Friday evening. Se-Ken Se-Ken members were present to en-;joy en-;joy the luncheon followed by an evening of sewing and visiting. The Reading Club met at the home of Mrs. Lona Watson Friday Fri-day afternoon with Mrs. Florence Flor-ence Higbee as co-hostess. Fifteen Fif-teen members were present to enjoy the light refreshments and the book review presented by Mrs. Zola Dover, the autobiography autobiogra-phy and letters ol William Lyons Ly-ons Phelps. i |
