Show High School Students Rehearse Biblical Theme Play Speech students at the Cedar City High School are going into their third week of rehearsals for the bidlical play, "Family Portrait," Por-trait," which is scheduled to be held at the Public School Auditorium Aud-itorium on Thursday and Friday Fri-day evenings, Apr. 28 and 29. Theme of the play, according to Barbara Gaddie, director, is: A prophet Is without glory in his own country. Biblical scenes and costumes for the play, that has a setting about 30 A.D. have been arranged through the Utah State Agricultural College at Logan, Lo-gan, Miss Gaddie Laid. Over 30 students will participate partici-pate In the production as members mem-bers of the cast and stage personnel. per-sonnel. The play Is so written that several students will have an opportunity to co-star in the production. pro-duction. Some of the more Important leads will include; Mary, Mother of Jesus, portrayed by Jeanine Gower; Mary Cleophas, Jesus' aunt, by Juanita Hazel, and Mary Magdalene, by Kaye Ashcroft. Male leads will be Jesus' four brothers, James by Bob Jones; Judah by Dayne Gardner; Joseph by Jerry Frame and Simon by Jay Perkins. Seyima the Inn Keeper will be protrayed by Avery Pearce and Gardner Dalley Dal-ley will play the part of Judas Iscariot. |
