Show Contracts Awarded On West Elementary Building Awarding of contracts for the construction of a new addition to the Cedar City Junior High School building and renovation of the old building and a portion of the West Elementary School building, was completed Wednesday Wed-nesday night by the Board of Education. . The contracts, on which work will be started in 10 days, provide pro-vide or the construction of a wing connecting the junior high and west elementary buildings, and renovating the old buildings to provide badly needed space for the growing enrollment at the school. It is hoped that the building can be completed in time for the opening of school in September. Jensen Construction Company of Salt Lake City, who recently completed the library-auditorium building at College of Southern Utah, was awarded the contract for the construction work on a bid of $292,000. Last night the Wasatch Electric Elec-tric Company of Salt Lake City was awarded the contract for wiring of the new building, and re-wiring of the old units. Three bids were received, with the Wasatch Wa-satch bid of $27,420 for the base contract of the wiring and $11,-638, $11,-638, for the re wiring of the other building, the lowest. The other two bids included one by Soren-son Soren-son Electric Co. of Sallna, $28,825 and $14,391, and another by Millard Mil-lard Electric Co. of Fillmore, for $29,980 and $13,400. The Jensen contract was signed Tuesday with deadline for the start of construction set for April 22. |
