Show I . HAPPENINGS IN NEWCASTLE George Beacham is home on a three week visit. He has been stationed in Japan. On leaving here he will go to Rhode Island to take survival training. Then he will be sent to the South Pole. The county road crew is working work-ing on the roads in town. The county will oil the street through town this summer. The stockholders of the Newcastle New-castle Reservoir Co. held a business busi-ness meeting Monday. Out of town members present were Jerome Jer-ome Tullis of Stl Lake City, J. X. Gardner of Springville, Herbert Knell of St. George, Glen Heaton and Carl Harrison of Cedar City. The Sunday School presented a fine program Easter morning. The benefit dance held recently recent-ly for the Behrings and Taylors, who lost their home by fire, was well supported by the townspeople. townspeo-ple. Those attending conference in Salt Lake City were Bishop and Mrs. Melvin liulet, Mr. and Mrs. Stirling Tullis. Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Christ ensen, Verona Christensen and Vivian Knell. Caine Christensen attended the American Legion convention in Salt Lake City. Mrs. Fern Reeve and children came up from Hurricane to spend Easter with Mr. Reeves. A recent visitor at the Chester Whitelaw home was his brother-in-law, Kenneth Mueser of Mo- nett, Mo Mr. Mueser is manager manag-er of "Monett Times" newspaper. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Arns have gone to Cedar City for a few days to care for the family of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Arns who have gone on vacation. |
