Show Rams Place Well in Dixie Invitational Coach Bruce Decker took seven men to St. George last Saturday to participate in the Dixie Invitational Invi-tational track and field meet being be-ing sponsored by the Dixie College. Col-lege. Six of the m.n participated participat-ed in the junior division and scored 22 points for third place in the division, finishing behind the Woodward Junior High of St. Georgeand Panguitch. Decker's boys won first In the 100 yard dash, 1st and third in the 220 yard dash, 2nd in the medley relay, 2nd in the-javelin and fifth in the broad jump for 22 points. I Jimmie Burt won first in the 100 and 220 yard events, and , was a member of the medley relay team. Don Halterman took second in the Javelin and fifth I in broad jump. Kent Talhot took 3rd In the 220 and ran in the relay re-lay and Roger Skougard and Roy Orton were the other members of the relay team. Allen Dalton, the sixth member of the junior high team, participated partici-pated in the shot put, but didn't place in the event. Kent Whitney, the only member mem-ber who represented the senior high school at the meet won 5th place in the 880 yard run. The next meet in which Coach Decker will enter his men is the B Y U Invitational meet at Provo next week end. |
