Show CSU Teacher Training Educator Receives Scholarship Mrs. Gwyn R. Clark As the recipient of a Fulbright award, Mrs. Gwyn R. Clark, Associate As-sociate Professor jf English and Education at College of Southern South-ern Utah, will spend a year in Tokyo, Japan as an instructor at the University of Tokyo. Mrs. Clark was granted a year's leave of absence by the USAC Board of trustees, also the governing gov-erning body of CSU. She will leave Cedar City about the middle mid-dle of August for her assignment. She will teach English at the high school and junior high school that are connected with the University of Tokyo. Her work will be primarily demonstration demon-stration teaching in connection with the teacher training program pro-gram at the university. Mrs. Clark came to CSU five years ago after teaching In the Iron County school system. She obtained her bachelor's degree in English and Speech at Utah State Agricultural College, and her master of science degree from the University of Utah in Elementary Ele-mentary Education. She has been supervisor of teacher training at CSU. The Fulbright program, administered admin-istered by the Department of State, provides funds for American Ameri-can educators to go abroad on lecturing and teaching assignments. assign-ments. Mrs. Clark is one of 10 chosen to go to Japan for the next year, and was selected from hundreds of applicants for the position. Accompanying Mrs. Clark will be her son Robert and her daughter daugh-ter Sharon. Two younger children child-ren will remain In Cedar City with their father.
