Show Bronco Tennis Team Will Encounter Dixie Rebels Friday One of the strongest tennis teams in recent years at the College of Southern Utah will get its fiist test Friday afternoon when the Broncos meet the Dixie Rebels of St. George In a dual meet and a battle for the traditional tradi-tional ax, according to Coach Cleo Petty. The fneetlng of the two ICAC schools is the first warmup for both teams and will furnish the first Indication of contemplated strength In the Intermountain Collegiate Athletic Conference this year. The ICA Conference tennl meet will be held In connection with the Conference track and field meet at Ogden this year. Pre-Conference meetings of the ICAC schools will not determine entrance to the meet, Petty indicated. in-dicated. Number one singles man for Broncos this year will be Don-nell Don-nell Spencer. He has held that position for the last two years. In his first ICAC year he placed second; last year he placed third, losing in the semi final round to the eventual champion and he will be shooting for the title this year. The number one doubles team will consist of Gary Evans and Garry Jenkins, both freshmen. Number two singles spot will be either Tom Dubrusky or Kel-land Kel-land Terry, with the No. 3 spot going to Demont Christiansen. Number two double team will go to Boyd Brown and Ronald Hansen. A contemplated meet during the week of April 25 against the Snow Badgers has been announced announc-ed also. It will be held on the local courts, Petty said. |
