Show CEDAR CITY 1 HIGH i SCHOOL NEWS " - K 1 St , i l V 1 j j By Wayne Decker J I The high school is preparing for the final election which will held to elect student body officers for the coming year. In the primary election held last Thursday, the number of candidates candi-dates was narrowed down to two for each office. The election as- , sembly and the final election will be held tomorrow, April 16. The election assembly is given for the purpose of presenting the candidates to the student body and trying to win votes for them. The candidates for president are Frank Knell and Bob Jones. Those running for vice president are Marva Carter and Marie Beck. The candidates for secretary are Eleanor Grlmshaw and Kay Ash-croft. Ash-croft. The annual Seminary Carnival will be held Saturday, April 16. The big night of fun will be at the First Ward recreation hall and the booths will be open at 7 p. m. Each class in the Seminary Semin-ary will sponsor a booth of some kind. Games of skill will be played at some booths while other oth-er booths will sell food. Several new boots will make the carnival carni-val one not to be forgotten. At 9:15 the dance will begin with the music being furnished by the Ileywood orchestra. The admission admis-sion will be 25 cents for those without Seminary student body! cards. Everyone is invited. The well known Cedar City High School band will make a concert tour of northern Utah next week. The 56 band members mem-bers will leave Cedar City next Thursday, April 21. Concerts will be given at Beaver High School at Beaver, Cyprus High School at Magna, Olympus Junior High School in Salt Lake City, and . possibly at Olympus High School 1 in that citv. To raise money so that the band will be able to pay its own hotel bill on the concert tour the band members will sponsor a car washing bee. The band hopes to make $150. Cars should be brought to the hign school on Saturday, April 16. The price to have your car washed will be $1.00. |
