Show Hurricane Leads Dixie Division Baseball Tourney Begins TEAM STANDINGS Hurricane 2 0 1.000 Dixie 1 0 1.000 Cedar 1 1 .500 Valley 4 1 .000, Enterprise 0 2 .000 The Dixie Division baseball race got off with a bang last week and a continued fast -pace of play is contemplated in an attempt at-tempt to run off a home and home schedule with the five participating par-ticipating teams prior to the se-ml-windups in the state. Hurricane jumped into an early ear-ly lead by taking the measure of Cedar High Redmen in the opening open-ing game of the league ot Hurricane. Hurri-cane. The team took a five run lead in the first frame and was never equalled in the 7 to 2, seven sev-en inning victory. Monday, Hurricane Hurri-cane downed Valley High ( at Or-derville Or-derville to the tune of 1 to 11 in a homerun fest. Cedar City Redmen rebounded from their Initial loss Monday afternoon when they pulled through an extra inning game at Enterprise to score their first win, 6 to 4. Dixie had downed Enterprise in the opening round, 4 to 1 in the Flyer's only contest of the week. Today's Games Games to be played today, Thursday, pit Cedar against Valley Val-ley at Cedar and Hurricane goes to St. George to play the Flyers. Enterprise drew the bye. Next Monday Cedar City will entertain enter-tain the Flyers on the local diamond, dia-mond, time 3 p. m., in the final game of the first mund for the Redmen.
