The am- Ambulance service in need of manpower The Uintah County Ambulance Association, a volunteer organization which operates the ambulance at the Uintah County Hospital is suffering because of lack of manpower, according ac-cording to Gary Fountaine, association director. Presently the ambulance association has only three active members and four that help out on the weekends. "The ambulance service may go to a private business if we don't get more manpower," Fountaine said. Fountaine urges any interested person to attend the ambulance association's meeting Nov. 5 and Nov. 19. Also an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) course is being offered at the Uintah Basin Vocational Center Jan. 6, Tuesday and Thursday evening. Charge for the course is $90. Fountaine said that membership in the Uintah County Ambulance Association provides excellent training and practical experience ' in emergencies. "We will have advance level training is esophageal airway management, intravenous infusion techniques, general pharmacology and . car- dioversion techniques," Fountaine said.
