Show Division of Aging formula unfair, says local director Uintah County is protesting the Utah Division of Aging Advisory Committee's Com-mittee's funding formula for 1981. According to Ralph Siddoway, Uintah County Golden Age director, the formula for-mula is an unfair distribution of funds. Siddoway pointed out that Uintah County will only receive 62 cents per meal with the proposed allotment. Duchesne County received $1.82 per meal and Daggett County received $8.78 per meal in 1980. Duchesne and Daggett counties comprise 40 percent of the three county area population and they serve 31 percent of the meals, but they are to receive 60 percent of the total state nutrition funds for the area apportioned by the state for 1981, Siddoway said. "A formula that makes such a division of services to the older people is just not equitable and fair," Siddoway Sid-doway stated. The State Division of Aging funds the Uintah Basin area $53.08 per person for Duchesne and Daggett counties, $86.15 for the Ute Tribe members and only $29.40 for Uintah County. A formal protest is being made to the state agency, Siddoway concluded. |
