Show Four Year County Commissioner i Robnd Merkley REPUBLICAN Roland L. Merkley, Republican candidate for 4-year county commissioner, com-missioner, graduated from Uintah High School in Vernal. He is currently a county commissioner and a semi-retired semi-retired rancher. He has been the chairman of the Uintah County Republican Party; president of the Uintah Water Users for 10 years; president of the Uintah County Young Farmers; president of the Uintah County Farm Bureau; Director Vernal Chamber of Commerce; Com-merce; vice-president of the Vernal Lions Club; and District Scout Comm. for 4 years. He presently owns and operates C&A Construction an oil field roustabout service. Coney was a licensed vocational electronics teacher in California; a division manager for Hewlett Package Electronics Co.,; and was production manager for Cushman Electronics. I have no doubt the ordinances need updating, but at the present time I do not feel qualified to propose any specific changes. What goals would you set for the commission in the next 4 years? To complete the convalescent home at the earliest possible time and anything else that can be done to care for our elderly. To work with the oil and oil shale to help our county in the best ways possible. To bring our hospital staff up to meet the needs of our citizens. |
