Show City well reaches maximum depth As of Oct. 27, the new Vernal City well, located near the mouth of Ashley Gorge below Ashley Springs, had a 6" pilot hole to a depth of 503 feet, reported Robert Lashier, director of public works. According the Lashier the well is producing water, but tests need to be made to determine the quality and amount of water the well is producing. Utah geologists Bruce M. Kaliser and William R. Luck of the Utah State Geological Mineral Survey will review the strata sampling and further advise the city on the quantity and quality of the well. They will also help determine the feasibility of further drilling in the area, Lashier said. Roberts Drilling of Roosevelt has . been at the site since Oct. 8. The well may be used to supplement Vernal's culinary water if the test results are good. |
