Show 'YOUNG DEMOCRATS MEET AT CANYON OUTING Over 500 county Democrats, including in-cluding state and local Democratic candidates, gathered at Kelly's Grove in Hobble Creek Canyon Saturday night for an outing sponsored by the Utah County Young Democratic Clubs, according accord-ing to Harold Hansen, Orem, county president. Ernest Dean, president of the American Fork club, chairmaned the event, which included introduction intro-duction of candidates, supper, games and program. Alton Giles, Provo, acted as master of ceremonies. cere-monies. Visiting state Democratic candidates candi-dates who attended were John Boyden, candidate for governor; Clinton Vernon and Herbert Smart, candidates for attorney general; Ray H. Leavitt and Judge Reva Beck Bosone, candidates for state representative; Oliver Ellis, candidate for state treasurer, and Heber Bennion, candidate for secretary sec-retary of state. - Local candidates represented were Judge Stanley Dunford, Provo; J. Clark Elmer, Payson; Ray E. Loveless, Orem, and Mr. Dean, American Fork, running for county commissioners, and Maurice Maur-ice Anderson, Springville, candidate candi-date for state representative. . Wayne Christofferson, state president of the Young Democratic Demo-cratic Clubs" and Ralph Spencer, chairman of the Salt Lake club, also were guests at the outing. County chairmen in charge of events were John Vloyantes, Provo, invitations; Philip Thornton, Thorn-ton, Provo, transportation; Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Miner, Springville, Spring-ville, refreshments;" Klara Snyder and Charlie Woods, Spanish Fork, Mr. Elmer and Tom Reece, Pay-son, Pay-son, tickets; and Dona Regaskis, American Fork, entertainment. |
