Show TRADE AT HOME Tomorrow, Friday, is "Trade At Home Day, more recently termed, "Back To School Day", but so is Saturday. And the Monday following should also be dedicated to the same purpose and so far as Springville people are concerned, con-cerned, each shopping day of the next 365 should be likewise like-wise observed. Each week your attention may not be called so forcibly to the fact that it is to yoicr advantage to trade at home, but there will be advertisements and other means provided by which you may know just what Springville stores have and at what price. And we invite you to compare the values and the prices with those found out-of-town. It will be a revelation revela-tion to some. , . The hundred and one reasons why townspeople should trade in Springville are too well known to require explanation. explana-tion. We all know for instance that every dollar spent elsewhere else-where builds up the other community at our expense. There is a certain fascination, we admit, in buying in the big stores. There is an advantage also in choosing from big stocks, but you pay for that facination and advantage and plenty, both in time and money. ' There is a tendency among us human beings to believe that if a large magnificent store charges us a high price for clothing or other similar goods, that better value is being received, but such is not always the case ... The same money would buy the same value with perhaps just a little more, in your home town. If home town merchants could be assured of your patronage, they too could afford to carry larger stocks, but until such a condition does exist it would be commercial suicide for them to attempt to please you in the way you demand. Of this fact you may be sure: That year in and year out, dollar for dollar, local dealers will always compete with outside merchants, giving service that cannot be obtained elsewhere and usually matching value for value. Whenever you spend a dollar out of town, you take that much out of local circulation, you rob the city of that much money with which to build itself and this in turn works to your disadvantage. dis-advantage. The ideal condition would exist when every citizen bought all of their requirements from local merchants. Should this happen, it would be possible for local dealers to carry everything, the city's business district would grow by leaps and Springville as a whole would be greatly , benefited. . Let's make it our patriotic duty to Trade At Home and think twice hereafter before purchasing elsewhere. |
