Show Kids Have Voice In What They Like For School At long last the kids are having a voice as to what they prefer in the way of back-to-school cloths. Kids like color, nubby fabrics, and clean natty lines. Their mamas speak up for hard-wearing togs, and the young world agreed nobody wants to look shabby at the end of the semester. Fudge brown melted everybody. Among the back-to-school clothes clo-thes favored by the youngsters were wool skirt and wool-jersey blouse; wool-flannel jacket and plaid skirt; plaid trimmed collar; jumper blouses with long sleeves prettied up with needlework edging edg-ing in easily washed cotton; navy blue broadcloth with a gleaming tux front; checked dresses which will take several days wear between be-tween washings, without surrendering surrend-ering a particle of shape; cross-stiched cross-stiched recitation dress; square yoked chambray and net white collar; col-lar; shining pique with attached plaid skirt; jumper dress tied with a poet's bow; wool plaid dress with, a white pique collar; plaid cotton gracefully pleaited skirt; cotton sailor -dress; gay plaid wool skirt. The first thing most teens say about the new fashions is that they make sense. Let everyone who thinks teens like dresses embroidered embroid-ered with Hi Stranger or such, discard her illusions. Teens know corn when they see it. The new clothes are making a hit precisely because they are not corny. Things teens do like are full skirts. And color. And informality. |
