Of this amount, the cafeteria, the most successful department of all, netted $1300 for seven days' operation. So much foodstuff was left over at closing time Saturday evening, the time scheduled for closing Community week, that the women decided to op-, erate the cafeteria on Sunday and that day proved the best of the week, the total receipts for Sunday being nearly $200. Other receipts during the week were as follows: Bazar and "white elephant'' ele-phant'' sale, $1200: operation of soda fountain, three days, in Brigham pharmacy, phar-macy, $85; Saturday's receipts from the pool halls, $60; receipts from per- formance by the University club of Ogden, $90: ."jitney service rendered by I Mrs. E. The balance was derived ! from dances, baseball games, etc. At Park Valley one evening during I the week a Red Cross ball was given, ! during which a donated Leghorn chicken was auctioned and re-auctioned until it had netted a total of $60. The prices paid for the chicken ranged from $2.50 to $6.50. The ball netted about $100 for the Red Cross. With the finances derived from the big "Community" week drive, the Boxelder chapter will be in working order or-der for a considerable time. |
