Show MRS. JORGENSEN, VETERAN NURSE, DIES IN HOSPITAL . J. MBS. PETE IKE JORGENSEN. 4 TITRS. PETRINE MARIE JORGENSEN, a resident of Salt Lake for fifteen years, who died recently at a local hospital, was born in Denmark, May 7, 1861, and came to America following fol-lowing the death of her husband and three children in her native land. Since coming here site has followed the occupation occupa-tion of nurse. She was an active member of the Mormon church for many years. A nephew. NlH' Hansen of this city, survives sur-vives her. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon in the Tenth ward chapel. Friends may view the body at the residence of Mrs. Slgne Gulbran-een, Gulbran-een, 758 East Third South street, prior to the services. Burial will be in City cemetery. Prince Sixtus of Bourbon-Parma, to whom the famous letter written by Emperor Charles offering offer-ing peace to France was addressed, the Times says, visited King Alfonso of Spain on Monday, according to the Madrid Sol. The Spanish newspaper understands un-derstands that he gave to King Alfonso explanations concerning his correspondence correspond-ence with his Hapsburg relatives. (His sister Zlta is empress of Austria-Hungary. ) Simultaneously a report reached Stockholm Stock-holm that Emperor Charles was making a fresh attempt and that he was appealing appeal-ing to Italy to consider it In her own interests. All that can be said about these rumors, ru-mors, the Times adds, is that they are not inherently incredible. The dual monarchy and its ruler are unquestionably in a highly critical position, posi-tion, the newspaper continues, and It may well be that the youthful emperor Is trying to tempt Italy, possibly also Belgium, as he tried to tempt France. The result of any such efforts, of course, it Is added, would be the same. They would Interest the allies only as fresh Indications that the emperor is conscious of the dangers which menace him and is seeking a way of escape. |
