Show i SALT LAKER IS TWICE WOUNDED; NOW RECOVERING f NAT STEINGHAM. npwiCE wounded and now in a base hospital in Prance, recovering from his second wound, Nat Stringham of Salt Lake, member of the Seventh company, Third regiment of the United States marine, ma-rine, corps, has written to assure his mother, Mrs. M. E. Anderson of 442 Elm street, that he is on the road to recovery. This marine declares that the treatment treat-ment at the hospital Is of the very best, with good food and nice, clean beds. He says it is the nearest approach to home of any place he has been during his stay-in stay-in France. Things are very exciting, he declares. He tells his mother she can get a far better idea of what is going on than he oan, for he has been In the center of the fighting for many days, and consequently has no broad, general idea of the great battle. On a still night the big guns can be heard at this base hospital, hos-pital, which is many miles behind the front. |
