Show THREE GENERALS ARE FURNISHED BY UTAH Young, Hines and Wedgwood Wedg-wood Among This State's Gift to Nation. Utah has the signal honor of furnishing three generals tor the United States army since this country entered the war. jjjyO of these officers are still in active service ser-vice and the third recently was retired because physical disability precluded ills being sent to France. The three generals which Utah claims the honor of furnishing are Brifradlar-General Brifradlar-General Richard W Young, 146th field artillery; Brigadier-General Frank T. Hines. general staff of the army in charge of embarkation, and Brigadier-General K. A. Wedgwood, national army, retired. The latter was the first general officer to be furnished by the state, he hawrnjg been among the first quota of brlgadt$r-generals brlgadt$r-generals commissioned in the national army when this organization was created. General Wedgwood first was assigned W duty at Camp Fremont, Palo Alto, Cal.. and later transferred to Camp Greene. He was then transferred to the celebrated Rainbow division, but when that organization organ-ization was about to go to France General Gen-eral Wedgwood was retired for physical disability. Conflrmafion of General Young ami General Hines as brigadier-generals by the United States senate has just been announced. |
