Show OTEiffi FIXES " WOOL COMMISSI Dealers Allowed 3 Per Cent on Ungraded and 31-2 on Graded Fleece. "WASHINGTON, May 1. The govern- ment will allow dealers in raw wool a commission of 3 per cent for ungraded and 3V per cent for graded wool. This was made known by the war Industries board today, when It officially announced its action of last week tn fixing the price of raw wool to the producers at that prevailing pre-vailing July 30, 1917. The commission will cover all storage, cartage and insurance, inc!ud:ng: marine insurance of imported wool, and will be added to-the price of the wool aa it leaves the dealers' hande. Wool dealers, said the announcement, are arranging to make a blanket price to the growers when wool is sold and delivered de-livered by the dealers. In making official announcement of its action last week in fixing the price of raw wool on- the basis of that-prevailing at Boston for washed wool on July 20 last, the committee paid tribute to the patriotic attitude taken by both the growers and dealers. "In dealing with the manufacturers," the statement says, "the government needs must first be supplied by the mills on fair and reasonable terms, based on tlie cost of raw material and conversion, after which the surplus wool will be released re-leased and find its outlet through the usual manufacturing and distributing channels, subject to such conditions, however, how-ever, aw the government may feel is in the best interests of the public and fair to the manufacturers. "The woolgrowers, the wool dealers and the wool manufacturers will be represented repre-sented on the government committee which will take charge of the detailed operations. This committee will be appointed ap-pointed without delay." ' |
