Show URGES THE PURCHASE OF THRIFT STAMPS James W. Collins of Salt Like Delivers Deliv-ers an Address to the People Peo-ple of Provo. Special to The Tribune. PROVO, May L State Chairman James W. Collins of the war savings committee, was the principal speaker at the Commercial club luncheon today. Mr. Collins spoke mainly on thrift stamps and their place in the financial system organized for war purposes. He urged the business men to support the thrift stamps movement by organizing selling agencies and in every possible way. Mr. Collins stated that of Utath'B apportionment $9,000,000 only about $1,000,000 has been subscribed. General 13. A. Wedgwood, formerly of Provo, spoke briefly of his residence resi-dence here and the pleasant associations associa-tions formed, and urged a united effort in supporting the government in all war measures. Chairman J. V. Robinson of the Provo Liberty loan committee, reported that Provo will have oversubscribed by the end of the week. He stated that the Startup Candy company had subscribed sub-scribed for $1000 worth of bonds in addition to its original subscription. |
