Show HI! SCHOOL BOYS TO COMPETE FRIDAY Annual State Meet Promises Prom-ises Keen Contests; Only Best Are Entered. Athletes from all parts of the state are expected to arrive In Salt Lake today and tomorrow to take part in the annual high school track and field meet. The contests con-tests will be held on Cummings field tomorrow to-morrow afternoon, starting at 2 o'clock, ana will be under the supervision of the University of Utah. From all indications, the meet tomorrow tomor-row promises to be keenly contested. This year, in order to be eligible for the state meet, athletes had to make a minimum time in the division meets and come out either first or second In their chosen events. By this method, fewer men will compete than before and the events should be run off in fast time, while the competition should be more keen, as only the best men will take part. C. Oren Wilson, secretary-treasurer of the Utah State High School Athletic association, as-sociation, has been receiving the entries from the different schools and haa the plans for the meet practically complete. |
