Show Will Not Interfere. WASHINGTON, May 1. Assurance that congress has no intention of interfering in-terfering with the cotton exchanges of the country if they conduct their business busi-ness legitimately, is gn-en by Senator Smith of South Carolina, chairman of the senate interstate commerce committee, commit-tee, in a letter to President George Shutt of the New York cotton exchange. ex-change. The letter was in reply to a query from Mr. Shutt asking if congress con-gress planned to take any step to regulate reg-ulate exchanges. |
