The boating and slumber party given by Miss Prlscilla Christensen for the members of the S. O. D. H. club proved to be a most enjoyable affair. A "wieni" lunch was served at the head of Salem pond, followed by ice cream and cake at the home of the hostess at 2 o'clock. Whitlock at the homo of Mrs. Kuhn, in compliment to Mrs. Edward Wertheimer of St. Louis, Mo. The tea table was decorated with summer flowers. The guesLs included twelve of Mrs. Wertheimcr's most intimate inti-mate friends. Mrs. Wertheimer was the guest of honor at a luncheon Friday at Liigoon, a number of her Ogden and Salt Lake friends being in attendance. Announcement of the engagement of Misa Cleone Rich, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Edward I. Riuh, to Royal Kccles Wiis made Tuesday afternoon, when Miss Rich entertained informally at her home in compliment to her sister, Mrs. G. Oscar Russell, who is here from New York City for an indefinite visit. A color scheme in lavender and yellow was carried out with marigolds and Shasta daisies. A luncheon was served. The hostess was assisted by her mother, Mrs. Joseph M. Eccles and Miss Marie Witte-vene. Miss Ricii is one of Ogden's most talented musicians and is prominent socially. She studied the violin at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston and before be-fore going east was a pupil of Willard WeihG of Salt Lake. Mr. Eccles Is the son of Mrs. Bertha Eccles and the late David Eccles, and is a member of a prominent law firm of this city. The wedding will be one of the Important social so-cial events of the early fall. Complimentary to W. H. Haddock, who left Thursday for Camp Lewis, Miss Zina Pingree entertained twelve guests at an informal card party Tuesday evening at the James Pingree home. Edvalson, a lawn party was given under the auspices of the Ninth ward Mutual Improvement associations in honor of Andrew Vandenberg, Leroy Jackson and Alvin Johnson, who left Thursday to enter training for the army. A program of musical numbers, readings and games was given and refreshments were served. About eighty relatives and friends of the honor guests, together with officers of the M. I.
