Show I MT1HM1G : PUSHES CAMPAIGN I Drilling of Well in Gusher Territory to Be Undertaken Under-taken at Early Date. W. P. O'Mera, well-known mining and oil operator, one of the moving spirits in the Montana-Wyoming Oil company, which is headed by William Spry, former for-mer governor, said yesterday that the company had welt under way its plans for the drilling of its No. 3 well. The Montana-Wyoming company has exten-; exten-; stve holdings in the Midway-Sunset oil i field of California, which has become the ; greatest producing district in the Golden I state, the record for 1017 production being be-ing given as I, U40, 000,000 ban els. Ofliclals of the Montana-Wyoming , comps say that it is already making reg-; reg-; uiar shipments of oil from its two pro-; pro-; ducing wells, but intends to largely in-( in-( crease this output by the drilling of No. i S well in gusher territory, in which re-i re-i gion the company holds considerable I ground, as to the biggest oil companies i of the country among them the Standard . Oil, the Union Oil and the General Pe-; Pe-; f troleum. It is further stated that the Midway-1 Midway-1 Sunset field was proved through the an- tincllnal theory, originated by Dr. E. A. ': Edwards, a noted oil expert of California, : often called the father of the Midway-Sunset Midway-Sunset district. It was due to the examinations exami-nations made by Dr. Edwards that the second anticline, which yields the gushers, gush-ers, was discovered and the first wed J brought in was the famous Lakeview No. 1, with a production daily of above 90.000 I barrels. Dr. .Edwards, in a letter to the Montana-Wyoming company, writes that its holdings are in the same structure J as those of the Lakeview No. 1, and pre-J pre-J dieted another gusher on its ground. |
