Show TIME 11 TO GO TO PRESIDIO President Widtsoe Authorized Author-ized by War Department to Make Selections. ITcsldcnt John A. Widtsoe of the University Uni-versity of Utah has been authorized by the war department to make twenty-one now appointments to the Presidio to join Iho forty-two men. who were sent to the encampment two weeks a-o. This raises the quota to a tolal of sixty-three who will take the special course in military science and tactics in preparation for work as instructors in the school battalion bat-talion that will be organized at the opening open-ing of school early in October. The faculty men appointed to represent the institution are i iofessors l.eon F. t-hackell, Howard I.. Baldwin and Mv-rum Mv-rum Schneider and Instructors V. E. Gardner and Arthur Deeley. The new student appointees are as follows: R. Kenneth Luirnes, George Bowles, Abram II. Cannon, L. K. Croft, Albert F. Dun-yon, Dun-yon, Jonas Fredorickson, George F. Meiss-ner, Meiss-ner, Paul Pickering, Wilford Reichman, J. F. bnedaker. .1. E. Tavlor, Harold Veness, Ray West, .1. H. Winder and l.eon R. Walker. About half of the contingent left for California yesterday. 'The others probably prob-ably will leave today if they can have their physical examinations in time to get away. Colonel Edmund S. Wright, professor pro-fessor of military science and tactics at the state university, says that an attempt has been made to get men who represent all parts of the state to take the training. train-ing.
