Show I- MRS. CHARLOTTE E. SMITH, funeral services I for whom were held yesterday : in the Fifth ward. i i SERIES ARE HELD for mm. SMITH Prominent as a Church Worker in Fifth Ward for Twelve Years. Funeral services for Mrs. Charlotte E. Smith were held at noon yesterday in the Fifth ward meeting house, Bishop Jesse R. Petti t officiating. Sirs. Smith, who had been a resident of the Fifth ward for more than twelve years, was born in Toledo, Ohio, November Novem-ber 15, 1S4S. In 1S70 she married Francis Fran-cis W. Argust and became the mother of seven children. Later in life she married mar-ried Jobe Smith, well known in church work in Salt Lake, becoming the mother of another child, Anna Smith. Three child ron survive her, Hyrum S. Argust of Seattle, Wash.; Frank W. Argust of Blue Creek, Utah, and Andrew J. Argust of Gunnison, Utah. Nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive her. Several speakers paid tribute to Mrs. Smith as a mother, and In acknowledgement acknowledge-ment of her abilities as a church worker. Burial was in City cemetery, where she was placed beside her husband,' Jobe Smith. |
