Show APEX-STANDARD IS READY FOR WORK Special to The Tribune. EUREKA, July 27. Lewis Merriman. who. was instrumental in launching the Apex-Standard Mining company and who will direct the development of the gTouno, for the new corporation, says that everything every-thing is now in shape for business. The only thing that has delayed the limbering up of the machinery is the failure to receive re-ceive a1 couple of small parts, which had, to be replaced at the eleventh hour. ! i The holdings of the Apex-Standard, 1 about 400 acres in all, are exceptionally ! well located, being southeast of the Tin- i tic Standard. The new company will have j a liberal strip of ground both east and west of the site selected for the shaft, and this means that they will be in line for ! the southern extension of the Tin tic j Standard vein in the event that the theory I of Mr. Merriman and associates is cor-I cor-I rect, and it seems to be pretty well back.l ; by geological reports. I The first work done will be the sinking j of a deep working shaft and the equip-! equip-! ment that has been installed is good for 1 1500 feet of sinking. The machinery will ! be electrically driven and ample provisions ! have been made for the financing of the company. This means that the campaign of work will go along without interruption interrup-tion when once it is fully under way. |
