Ratifications Ratifica-tions of the British find Canadian re- .cruiting treaties with the United States I ill be exchanged in London next Tues-i Tues-i d3; From July 31 to September 28, both' inclusive, British subjects in the United States, including declarants -who are of present United States draft age, have their last chance of enlisting, if they wish, in the British and Canadian armies. After September 28 they become be-come liable to compulsory service under the draft law in the United States array. Pritish subjects, including declarants, 20' years or more and between 31 and ' 44, both inclusive, are also within the recruiting conventions. 'For these men President Wilson will appoint a day on which they will have to register. For thirty days after that day they will have their last chance of voluntarily ' enlisting in the British and Canadian armies. On the thirty-first day after : registration, if they have not so en-' en-' listed, they become liable to eompul- 60rv service under the American draft I law. I |
