Show SCIENTIFIC SELECTION OF MOTOR TRUCKS Greater and greater enlightenment regarding re-garding motor trucks has resulted in a far moro careful solection of them as regards re-gards weight and capacity for tho work destined for them, in the opinion of Sales Manager Tom Davis' of the Rnu-dall-Dodd Auto company. "It used to bo the tendency of motor truck purchasers, ' ' said Mr. Davis, "to use trucks that were too heavv. Thoro wero many instances where, the great bulk of a firm's individual deliveries I was well under a ton, with an occasional ! delivery, say of three tons. Formerly i trucks of a sufficient capacity were , bought to carry this occasional thrce-j thrce-j ton load on a single trip, and for a I great part of the timo tho truck opcr-: opcr-: atcd at one-half or one-third its carrying capacity. Tho great waste iu this has been shown conclusively and now the , soundest advice is to buy a truck that conforms to the normal demands of the business and not the exceptional. The wisdom of this advice is proved in the greater efficiency many firms aro getting get-ting from one-ton trucks, where formerly former-ly two, three and ouo-half and five-ton models were used. "Tho GMG line affords the opportunity oppor-tunity to secure any model from three quarters of a ton up to five tons. But we, as do other GMO distributors, urge our purchasers to use tho greatest discretion dis-cretion in selecting the model that will best fit their business. All theso various va-rious models arc now on hand in our establishment and we can mako prompt deliveries of them.1' |
