Show WANTS - WILSON-AT WILSON-AT CONFERENCE President's Presence at the Peace Congress Desired, London Times Says. LONDON, Nov. 23. Disavowing any wish to intervene in American criticism of tho visit of President Wilson to Paris, the Times says that his presence in Paris is much desired. "President Wilson," It says, "has done incalculable service to the ailicd cause.-Hla cause.-Hla name is one to conjure with in Europe. Eu-rope. Wc are all idealists now in international inter-national affairs. Wc look to him to help us tb realize these ideals and to reconstruct recon-struct a better and fairer world. "For this reason and because he is tho head of the American republic, wc hope that party controversies w ill not prevent him from corning to Europe. There may doubtless be difficulties surrounding sur-rounding his attendance at the actual conference, btit even more important than tho actual conference are tho discussions that must precede it and in these President Presi-dent Wilson's presence not only is desirable, de-sirable, but is indlspensible." The British admiralty is considering plans for the reception of President Wilson1, Wil-son1, It probably will send warships to meet the Agamemnon and escort the presidential party to port. PARIS, Nov. 23. (Havass.) The French senate has passed unanimously the motion already adopted by the chamber cham-ber of deputies paying homage to President Presi-dent Wilson as "having deserved well of humanity." The motion pays tho same honor to t ho allied nallpus and their chiefs. |
