Show REFUGEESCLOTHES Garments for Vast Numbers Num-bers of Civilian Unfortunates Unfor-tunates Required. Work being done by Red Cross chapters chap-ters on surgical dressings has been ordered stopped by George E. Scott, Red Cross general manager. Mr. Scott, in a bulletin received at local headquarters, explains that there are- now sufficient quantities of these dressings' stored in v.u re houses abroad and in the United States to meet any demand that may hereafter arise. The order to cease making" dressings, however, does not imply that the work of the lie, Cross members is done. Although work in gauze dressings baa been discontinued at Amelia palace, pursuant pur-suant to the order of the general manager, man-ager, the order is not taken to imply that work on gauze face masks should be stopped. This activity will be con-liniied con-liniied locally as long as health conditions condi-tions seem to urge. The old Rod Cross flag has been run down at-Amelia palace and within a few-days few-days will lie replaced with a new one. The material forming the red cross on tiie white field expansse of the f raved banner is to be worked on the new flag. Rpd Cross workers are now employed sewing on the new standard. The .sale is being conducted on the progressive auction plan, with numbers selling from L'.'i cents to $1. The winning number is under seal in a strongbox in one of the local banks, and was drawn by a person having 'no interest in the shop. |
