If, X i y j ! FRED SMITH WILL BE BIED TODAY Assistant Cashier of National Na-tional City Bank Succumbs Suc-cumbs to Influenza. Following the death of "Hyrum Ptngrce, cashier of the National City bank, by twenty-four hours, Fred Smith, assistant cashier of the Institution, died Friday at the Holy Cross hospital, of Influenza. Mr. Smith was born In this city on February 18, 18S0, and was a graduate of the grammar schools and of the old Salt Lake- high school. At the latter Institution Institu-tion he acquired much fame as an athlete, ath-lete, especially In football circles. I Following his graduation from high I school. Mr. Smith became a clerk at the old Continental Xat tonal bank and grad-i grad-i unity worked his way to more responsible positions. He is survived bv his widow. Martha Plumhof Smith: his father. S. T. Smith: his mother. Mrs. Ida Pitt Ward; four brothers and three sisters. The body may be viewed at the O'Donnell & Co. undertaking parlors. Burial will take place at Mt. Olivet cemetery tomorrow afternoon at 3:30 o'clock. |
