Show BADLY BURNED IN LIGHTING FIRE Wjth but a small portion of her skin that was left untouched by the flames, her hair burned away and patches burned from her body, Mrs. P. L. Peterson, o7 years of age. 730 Arapahoe avenue, lies at the St. Mark's hospital in a critical condition and with blight hope held out for her recovery. Neighbors were attracted to the house by a sudden explosion followed by screams for help at 11 o'clock yesterday morning, and, entering the place, found Mrs. Peterson dashing frantically about the kitchen, her clothing ail aflame as a result of her attempting to light the kitchen fire with kerosene oil. They succeeded suc-ceeded in smothering the blaze with a mattress, but she was, so severely burned that she sank into unconsciousness. She was taken to the emergency hospital by Patrolmen Frank Tripp and W. K. Jukes tn the police ambulance, where an examination ex-amination of her injuries showed that her clothes had been literally burned from her body, and that her eyes had been closed by the flames. After administering administer-ing first aid and relieving the woman's pain, she was removed to St. Mark's hospital. hos-pital. At a late hour last night she had regained consciousness, but hospital attaches at-taches held out no hope for her recovery. |
