Captain Charles R. Mabcy of Bountiful, formerly with the .14.1th Held artillery (First Utah), but now on tho staff of instructors in-structors at the school of fire. Fort Kill, Oklahoma, has been commissioned a major, according to word received by his family. Major Mabey joined the 145th field artillery ar-tillery in July, 1917, and went with It to Camp Kearny, California. In accordance with the policy of training that all artillery ar-tillery officers take, the course of training train-ing offered at the school of fire at Fort Sill, Major Mabey was detailed to commence com-mence his course in February of this year. After completing his course in April, he was assigned as instructor, which position he has since held. Major Mabey is a veteran of the Spanish-American war and of the Philippine insurrection, and has a record of having been under fire twenty-two times during those two campaigns. |
