Show WILL TAKE A POLL ON STRIKE PROPOSAL Regardless of any action already taken, or proposed for Ihe future, the Oakland. Cal.. Central Labor council will poll its membership for the purpose of obtaining an Index of the sentiment with regard to calling a nation-wide strike as a protest against tho execution of Tliomaa Mooney, now under sentence of death in the fSan Quentin penitentiary. This poll, according to communications in the hands of local labor executives, will be taken on December and upon the result of tho voting hangs definite aetion of the council with respect to the strike. The vote will bo taken in meetings meet-ings of all locals making up the central labor-body of Oakland, and Ihe result will immediately be communicated to Hie California tale Federation of Labor. Mooney is to banc on December 1.1 unless un-less Governor Stephens intervenes either with a Dardou or order for a new trial. I'p to Ihe present lime the Salt Lake Federation of Labor has laken no official action toward participating in a natlon-witf- strike of protest in the Mooney matter. |
