One of the most successful social events of tiie year ! was the patrons' reception given Thurs- day evening in Hungerford hall by the Wasatch academy faculty. About j'0 guests were in attendance and enjoyed a varied programme, consisting of musical numbers, games and pantomimes. The rooms were artistically decorated with flags and bunting to represent America, Japan, France, England, Germany, Iceland Ice-land and Mexico, and in each room games and music characteristic of each country were played. u"he guests were divided in seven groups, each group performing a musical number characterizing- the country coun-try each represented. An elaborate luncheon in courses was served progressively pro-gressively in the different rooms by -young-ladies dressed in costumes harmonizing with the decorations. Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Brand and Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Wall motored to Spring City Sunday afternoon and were entertained at luncheon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. Morgan Johnson. In honor of her husband's birthday anniversary, an-niversary, Mrs. R. B. Norton entertained at dinner Tuesdav evening. Covers were placed for the Rev. R. B. Norton, O. F. Wall. E. W. Wall. H. F. Wall, C. L. Jones ana G. W. Brand. The "carnival given Monday evening at the Wasatch academy by the local Y. W. C. A. proved an immense success, socially and financially.
