Show PERMITTED TO CAN FORTION OF BEANS WASHINGTON. Pec. 15. The food administration's ad-ministration's prohibition against canning nf beans, pending a survey of the available avail-able supply of tin plate was lifted today to permit eanners to put up 25 per rent of their capacity up to the first of March next. "The survey disclosed," said, a food administration ad-ministration statement, "that there will lie released soon sufficient tin plate to relieve the situation, but it Is deemed wise to limit Its use until there Is assurance as-surance of an adequate supply of the materials ma-terials from which It is made. The present pres-ent permit will enable eanners to reduce their accumulated stocks and relieve the financial strain. The eanners are warned however, that it should not be taken as a precedent and thev are advised to consider con-sider the future with caution. They may pack at full factory capacity in order to keep down costs until the 23 per cent has been reached.'' ' |
