Show CAN COLLECT TAX ON PLEASURE CARS The opinion that a city tax on automobiles automo-biles used for pleasure purposes can be collected has been expressed by City Attorney At-torney W. H. Folland. C. V. Lawrence, city license assessor and collector, asked the city attorney recently for an opinion cn the question. He will now recommend to Commissioner Karl A. Scheid of the department of public affairs and finance the offering of an ordinance for enactment enact-ment that will provide for a tax of the sort. Mr. Lawrence estimates that a nominal tax of $2 a year will do much to increase the city's revenue. |
